Jayachandran Palazhy, artistic director, Attakkalari, said the event aims to transform Bengaluru into a contemporary dance hub. "Dance Connect will showcase some rare contemporary dance movements. Given its young cosmopolitan culture and search for new artistic expressions, the city is the best place to hold such an event,'' he said.
Diya Naidu, a contemporary dance and movement artist, said: "The biennial will help us know the works of artistes from various countries. The event will connect the city's dance audience with contemporary dance, art and %culture.'' Woo-Jung Kim, an artiste from Seoul (Korea) who is looking forward to perform in India, said contemporary dance gives her the freedom to explore what she wants to say using body as a %medium.
Dance Connect will be held at Ranga Shankara, Chowdaiah Memorial Hall and Alliance Francaise. Check www.attakkalaribiennial.org
